Avoiding a Conversation?

A wooden bridge across water to a green leafy forest

dif·fi·cult

 dif·fi·cult/ˈdifəkəlt/

adjective  needing much effort or skill to accomplish, deal with, or understand.  Not easily or readily done; requiring  planning to be performed successfully.

Let's Discuss

How I help

What to say?  What not to say?

"That's not what I intended!"

Conversations

  • Are the lines of communication open?
  • Honest conversations facing the brutal facts.
  • ...because we are all on the same mission here!

Feedback and Open Lines of Communication

When teams and leaders have open lines of commination, trust is built, confidence is established, people grow, teams are engaged...

What a wonderful world we live in!

When we have a people plan, a conversation around the facts and in the interest of people using their strengths and talents, we are in it to win it!

We can discuss:

  • Individual Performance
  • Company Values
  • Clearly define what success looks like, in this team!

Open Lines of Communication

I think, if I had secret to success for Leaders,

it would be, quite simply:

  • C.... open the lines of communication.

  • P...  design an engaging leadership People strategy with a solid Performance coaching Plan.

  • R...  Retain top talent employees and Recruit  aligned with Company Values.

Be clear with under performers:  support their learning, establish clear goals and declare the consequences of under delivering or unkept promises.

Open lines of communication.

Listen.  Be curious.  Activate.

People Issues Keeping You Up at Night

I Worry:

  • One person is toxic to team morale.
  • Performance simply is not improving, beyond endless promises and commitments.
  • Their bad attitude is starting to affect the team, customers and our company performance.
  • This is one bad hire.

I'm afraid I might not say the right thing.  I'm afraid I've waiting too long.  I might not have taken notes or correctly documented coaching.

...I don't want to regret my business decisions.

Yet, if we do not address the issue quickly, more negativity, less productivity will impact business, our reputation and so much more.

This issue has been brewing, the people issues are keeping me up at night!

Return on Investment

Working with Kimberly to help solve this difficult situation, quickly.

Whether the Team has informed you or not, they are watching.

The are counting on your leadership:

  • The Team is your priority, you value their hard work and dedication.
  • Leaders do not allow someone to corrupt the workplace culture.
  • You do not stand for misconduct and misaligned values with the company values.
  • Act with the Team and Customer's best interest and care at heart.

You (the Leader) have

  1.  Peace of mind that performance expectations are clear.  You lead the team and engage them so business is thriving.
  2.  Open Lines of Communication.  Celebrate and recognize positive impact - individually and collectively.
  3. Confidence that your decision is the best decision for all involved.  This is a business decision.

What to Expect

First let's understand the current situation:  let's review the facts, the notes, the strategies to support and the employee's responses.

Does the employee know that their role is in jeopardy?

Let's take time to pause.  Then if necessary, let's engage key partners and activate an action plan.  This could move quickly to an exit conversation or if we need to allow time, then let's create a plan, an opportunity to demonstrate improvement.

Strategize and activate.  There's no more time to waste.

Let's be clear.  I can help.
